Seafood macaroni and cheese

Whenever someone listens about seafood mac with cheese. O my Gosh! Mouth beings watering. 

You will also be craving for seafood mac and cheese at the end of this article, like me. 

 

So, let me give a very short introduction to the seafood mac cheese recipe. It is a super creamy dish having tender macaroni mixed with seafood and a lot of cheese. 

 

First of all, I am enlisting all the ingredients that I am gonna use for making seafood mac and cheese.

 16 oz Elbow macaroni, boil it in water for 2 minutes, drain and rinse with cold water.
 8 tbsp Butter
 ¾ pound Medium shrimp peeled, you need to devein and chop into half-inch pieces
 Panko bread crumbs (Italian seasoned)
 1 cup Chopped Onions
 1 tsp Fresh Garlic Paste
  cup Flour
 3 cups Fresh Milk
  tsp Nutmeg (grounded)
 Old Bay Seasoning
 1 tsp Salt or According to your taste
 ¾ tsp Black pepper (powder)
 Lobster
 1 cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese
 1 cup Shredded Swiss Cheese
 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
 Cooked shrimp/ other fish or lump crab meat
 Fresh chopped parsley, for topping

St yeour oven to 400°C.

Place a medium-sized skillet over the heat.

Add 2 tablespoons of butter in it and let the butter melt.

Add shrimp in the skillet and keep stirring until its colour becomes pinkish.

Remove the skillet from the heat and place it aside.

Take a large saucepan, place it on the stove at medium flame.

Add remaining butter and wait until it melts.

Take out 2 tablespoons of melted butter in a medium-sized bowl.

Toss the melted butter with panko bread crumbs.

Add chopped onions and minced garlic in the saucepan and keep stirring for at least 3 to 4 minutes.

Add flour and keep stirring for an additional 5 minutes.

Add 3 cups of milk and whisk. Make sure that milk is fresh. Mix all the ingredients very well and don't stop stirring until there are no lumps.

Let the mixture boil at a low flame until it becomes thick.

Add salt, black pepper, nutmeg, lobster and any of your favorite seasoning. (mine is old Bay seasoning).

Add all the cheeses in the saucepan after removing it from the heat. Keep stirring until cheese melts and the texture becomes smooth.

Fold in macaroni, salmon, and shrimp.

Transfer it to a dish, don't forget to spray cooking oil or butter to the bottom of the tray.

Sprinkle panko bread crumbs and extra cheese on the top.

Place the dish in the oven for at least 15-20 minutes.

Garnish your seafood mac and cheese with chopped parsley or any other ingredient.

I recommend you to make this dish for your friends and family, but any person having the issue of cholesterol or hypertension must avoid eating it. Still, if he/she wants to eat you can reduce the quantity of cheese.

  • Seafood mac and cheese is a whole meal so you can serve it with fried potatoes or salad. 
  • You can increase/reduce the quantity of cheese according to your preference. 
  • Don't store the dish for too long as it contains milk if you want to store, reduce the quantity of macaroni in it.
